Thankfully the antibiotics worked!...I also had breast cancer.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7394312676214248679.post-43805007073659444922011-10-04T19:47:35.554-04:002011-10-04T19:47:35.554-04:00HI Elaine, Thanks for your thoughtful comments abo...HI Elaine, Thanks for your thoughtful comments about my post, but I especially thank you for understanding fully that ALL dietitians need to know about the risks associated with full lymph node dissection. Most cancer patients (including breast cancer patients) never see a specialized oncology dietitian, but they may see one at any point after cancer surgery and treatments who specializes in diabetes, heart disease, weight control, etc. Thus all RDs should be asking about the surgical history and advising on food growing and preparation techniques that reduce risk of injury to the hand and arm of the affected side(s). Many thanks for taking up the education on this important point. Many future patients will also thank you. :-)
DianaDiana Dyerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13307130287236271985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7394312676214248679.post-55611674517674241752011-10-04T19:31:40.816-04:002011-10-04T19:31:40.816-04:00Oh my. (I'd read your October 3rd post first.)

I had no idea about the risks of full lymph node dissection. Though I'm not an oncology dietitian nor work at an oncology clinic, this still is important information I'm thankful to now know so I can share it with others, in both professional and personal contexts.

I'm so so relieved Plan B worked and Ms. Diana "Vigilant" Dyer is continuing to add chapters to the life lesson book :-).Elainehttp://greensandberries.squarespace.comnoreply@blogger.com
