Not until I was driving the car to our booth to pack up after the market closed did I realize I had both my reading glasses and my sunglasses on top of my head. Please, please, please, my friends!! Just like when I was wearing two different running shoes earlier this year for who knows how long, please (yes, I mean it!) tell me when I need help pulling myself together. :-) Obviously my husband is no help! We both laughed over a beer later that evening when I told him what I discovered; he admitted to being so busy helping people the entire time we were at the market that he didn't think he'd had time to look at me once!
Over and over we heard our customers thank us for both growing our 42 varieties of organic garlic but as importantly, helping them learn how to enjoy using something as fun and delicious as garlic scapes. We can't wait to see them all again when we are back at the markets with our dried garlic heads.
Here is our sign for our first garlic scape 'U-Pick' that we did last weekend and our 'sold out' sign at the end of yesterday's market.
Today we both heard the birds wake us up in that pre-dawn hour, but .......... we both rolled over and did not get up for a few extra hours. Ah, luxury! Then we are back to prioritizing the gazillion things that need to be done (unpacking, anyone?). However, let's just say that today neither of us is moving at lightning speed, and maybe I would have even noticed myself if I was wearing both of my glasses on top of my head. :-)
What did I hear today that was new, with all this 'extra time' on our hands? My husband whistling in the kitchen, cutting up garlic scapes as he was making a lunch-time frittatta for us. Now that's the good life. :-)
