Short and sweet! I have two (two!) engaged sons, one planning a wedding for summer 2010 and the other for summer 2011. I am so proud, excited, and thankful that both of my boys have reached this milestone in life with happiness and confidence, each having found a truly lovely young woman to love, each of whom we also already love and eagerly welcome into our family.
To say that I am grateful to have this opportunity to see and share in their happiness is a serious understatement. In fact, I would say the 'goose-bump-feeling' must be close to pure bliss. :-)
We did ask that they chose a date to be married that is not smack in the middle of our garlic-harvesting season, but I don't know what other input and options we, as parents of the grooms, will have. Much is still to be determined, and we'll all enjoy the planning and the process!

Welcome!
I'm a wife, mom, long-time organic gardener and since 2009, an organic farmer, Registered Dietitian (RD), author of the book A Dietitian's Cancer Story and former website CancerRD.com. In between all that and more, I am a multiple-time cancer survivor and a survivor from being hit by a car in 2016 resulting in multiple injuries and a traumatic brain injury as well.
I began this blog in June 2007 to share a wider scope of my thoughts about life as a cancer survivor, food and nutrition, growing food, recipes, our environment, and the urgent need for developing food systems that promote health not disease, ecological sustainability, and social justice.
Due to the long recovery from the auto accident and my brain injury in 2016, we are no longer actively farming our 15 acres on a large scale. However, our farm's updates can be followed on our farm website, Facebook, and Instagram where we frequently use the following hashtags #wefarmforbirds, #healthstartshere, #healthyfoodsystems, #healthyecosystems, #fridaysforfuture, #reverseclimatecrisis, #noplanetB. You can see that we are still in the game, even if on a much smaller scale.

My mother-in-law always said her role in her sons weddings were to "keep her mouth shut and wear taupe". She was a funny lady who died too early! I miss her every day still, 3 years after she was gone. I am sure your future daughter in laws are thrilled to have a lovely mother in law like you.
As a future daughter in law. I would have to say, yes, thrilled is the right word!
