I enjoyed planning and cooking and eating at the table, complete with flowers picked from around the farm.
And after looking at my blender all set up and ready to go for the past few weeks, I finally gave it a whirl and made some of my super smoothies for breakfast. I have multiple smoothie recipes on my website that I enjoy making.
Yesterday and today's recipes were similar using blueberries and peaches yesterday and blueberries and strawberries today. Yum, yum............they tasted great! I think I can get back into the habit pretty easily, having that delicious taste to refresh my memory.

In the meantime, I know this smoothie recipes works!
1 cup unsweetened soymilk
1 cup juice (I used apple-carrot juice)
2 ounces soft tofu
3 small carrots, cut up into chunks
1/2 cup plain unflavored yogurt
3/4 cup frozen fruit
1/4 cup mixture of flaxseed, wheat bran, oat bran, wheat germ (equal parts)
Mix in blender until smooth. Add a bit more juice only if needed. This makes a lot, which can be one very large serving or 3 medium servings like the glasses in the photo.
Back to shakes is a first for the farm but is rather like back to the future for me again.

Thanks, Diana! A smoothie sounds great :) - Jessica Butcher
Thanks for the smoothie recipe. I often make smoothies for breakfast. I've never put flax seed or carrots in them--I will have to try that. I've been picking new kale leaves from last years plants for about a week now.
(The fish soup was very good, buy the way.)
